Tour 4: Private exclusive tour to the Wine Quarter “Weinviertel“, close to the Czech border. Wine, Culture and History
- Crossing the border and visiting the city of Znojmo, enjoying the medieval architecture and a good Czech beer
- Visit of the city of Retz, famous for its beautiful main square and the largest wine cellar system in Austria
- Visit of a “Kellergasse” (cellar lane), with inside visit of a wine cellar and wine tasting
- Visit of the small town of Schrattenthal and eventual wine tasting. The region is famous for its white wines, such as DAC, Grüner Veltliner, Gelber Muskateller, Gemischter Satz and many others but also for lighter red wines like Blauburger and Blauer Portugieser. There are also Zweigelts, Cuvées, Merlots and other excellent red wines. If special interest in wines, wine tastings can be arranged and booked in advance.

- Wine tavern visit or lunch in a local restaurant
- The wine quarter is rich in wine, culture and history. One day tour will not allow to cover everything. Depending on your personal interests, wishes and weather conditions, adjustments to your tour are welcome and possible.
- Day trip from the centre of Vienna, minimum 8h (80 km from Vienna), including Znojmo I would recommend 10 h. it is also possible to spend a night in the region.
